Les Contamines is a quaint unspoilt village at the head of the Montjoie valley and is dominated by Mont Blanc, with the close proximity of neighbouring resorts Chamonix and Megave, it has a genuinely French atmosphere.
As part of the 'Evasion Mont Blanc' ski area, Les Contamines offers fanatastic skiing. Other resorts in the Evasion area are easily accessible for those wishing to go explore other ski areas.
Les Contamines has a very reliable snow record, with most of the slopes above 1800m and north and north-east facing, they retain their snow when other nearby resorts are suffering. Off piste is excellent in Les Contamines and there are plenty of interesting black runs. Intermediates also have a really good selection of pistes and there is a snowboard park and half pipe in the resort.
Les Contamines has plenty of rustic charm and appeal, and visitors - especially over the festive period - will enjoy the traditional and vibrant atmosphere. The resort has two nightclubs and a range of bars and restaurants, where, unusually for France, the prices are very reasonable.
